When you think of profitable fast food restaurants, McDonald’s and a few others come to mind. Chick-fil-A is usually one of the places people think of on that list. It might be a surprise to some people that Chick-fil-A is the most profitable per location than any of the other fast food businesses. Per location they outsell the top three, according to QSR Magazine, which include McDonald’s, Starbucks, and Subway. McDonald’s has about 14,000 stores which when averaged out is about $2,670,000 per unit. Starbucks offers 13,930 locations and brings in $945,000 per location. Finally Subway has almost 26,000 locations and averages about $416,000 in revenue per location. When you take Chick-fil-A’s 2,225 locations and average the total revenue per location it comes out to almost $4,045,000. How does a business that is closed every week on Sunday’s beat out these titans?

On that list Chick-fil-A ranks in at the number eight spot, behind other giants in the industry. While being ranked much lower, Chick-fil-A proves that quantity does not always mean winning. They focus completely in quality. Back to the fact that they are closed on Sunday, which most people would assume something like that would impact sales negatively. As shown in the numbers there is little to none effect. There could even be a positive boost in numbers due to it. You have heard the saying about how you don’t know how good you have it until it’s gone. This could be the fact here as well. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there on a Sunday wishing it was open as you craved Chick-fil-A and gone to get it the chance we could.

Chick-fil-A also has a reputation for high quality service along with their carefully crafted quality menu. At other restaurants you see pages of menu item to choose from, while here you get the select few to pick from. While the selection might be smaller, it has created a menu for any craving all while keeping the quality in check. While interacting with any member of the staff at Chick-fil-A you immediately get their full respectful attention. They treat their employees with respect and expect their employees to treat each customer with the same care and respect. They are not only serving you great food, they are offering top quality service along with it.

While they might not have as many locations, Chick-fil-A creates more bang for their buck with better quality locations. They won’t aim to have the most locations, but they can definitely deliver results through the ones they have.
